week four thursday

Today the students were required to interview Italians. The students were great and got over their nervousness about approaching strangers quickly. They picked up some Italian and we translated the surveys into Italian for them beforehand. The interviews took place in a marketplace populated by Italians and not tourists. It was great experience for the students to talk with Italians besides ordering food in a restaurant. Many of the students completed their 20 surveys in an hour. The students will tabulate the results and post on their blogs. After the interviews we had lunch and the students returned to campus to work on midterms, blogs and tabulating the interview results. I went over to the Borghese area because I hadn't been there yet. Went by the museum of modern art and the museum of Etruscan art (Villa Guilia). I also took a better picture of the gargoyle and a picture of the north gate of piazza Popolo from the outside of the walls.
