week four tuesday

Today we headed for the other side of the river. There is just no easy way to get there. So we walked. And walked. But it was worth it because we were able to get into San Francesco di Ripa church before it closed. Actually they were closing when we got there, but the custodian let us in for a couple of minutes. Got to see the last sculpture Bernini did. I thought the custodian was going to have a heart attack when I forgot to turn off my flash! The we headed to the old church at Trastevere. This church is full of amazing mosaics that I didn't think my little nikon would do justice to, so I bought picture postcards instead. Then we hiked up Janiculum hill for a great view of the city below.
